Ingredients
- 1 cup VegPro Soya Chunks
- 1/2 cup maida, refined flour
- 2-3 tbsp. corn flour
- A pinch baking powder
- 1/2 cup water
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tbsp. white pepper powder
- 1/2 cup maggi hot n sweet sauce
- 3-4 tbsp. schezwan chili paste
- 2 tbsp. finely chopped garlic
- 1 tbsp. finely chopped green chili
- 1/2 cup green capsicum cubes
- 2-3 finely chopped Green chilies
- 1 tbsp. soya sauce
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tbsp. sugar/ honey (optional)
- 2-3 tbsp. oil for cooking
- A handfull spring onion greens for garnish
- Oil enough for frying
Instructions
Boil the VegPro soya chunks as per the instructions on the packet. Rinse and squeeze out excess water. Keep aside.
Make a batter with maida, cornflour, salt, pepper, and water. Add a pinch of baking powder. Whisk well and keep aside for 10 minutes or so. (The batter should neither be too thick nor too thin)
Dip each chunk in the batter and fry until crisp.
To make the sauce - heat oil on high flame.
Sauté ginger, garlic, green chilies on high heat for 1 minute. Add in the capsicum cubes and sauté for 1 minute.
Add in tomato sauce, schezwan paste, and sauté. Add soya sauce, vinegar, and sugar/honey. Check the taste. You can increase or decrease the spice level as per taste.
Add in ½ cup of water and let the sauce boil. Add in the fried soya chunks and let it coat the sauce well. Garnish with spring onion greens and serve.
We have not added salt, as all the sauces have high sodium content. In case you need, please taste before adding.
